Chinese Characters Alphabet Zone

Chinese characters

Imagine having at your disposal the skill to communicate with over 1.3 billion people using just one writing system? Of course, this system is composed of thousands of characters, but it all begins with one step and a healthy dose of time and patience.

Don't let the numbers discourage you. The Chinese alphabet (though technically not an alphabet) uses upwards of 10,000 characters in everyday life, each character standing for one word, one syllable. But trust me, your brain can handle it. It just takes repetition and practice.

The lessons following this page are designed to teach you the specifics of writing the Chinese characters alphabet and Japanese kanji, which are essentially the same system.

Chinese characters are all composed of a set number of radicals (pieces) and are all written according to a set pattern, which means writing Chinese is not as difficult as you may think. There is a method and I will teach you it.

Written Chinese is beautiful and once you master the patterns of the characters, you can move on to the art of calligraphy and really express yourself. Let's begin with Chinese Writing Lesson 1. Watch the videos and practice on paper until your characters look authentic. The goal here at Foreign Language Liberation is always authenticity.
